The Story

Mariners Luck II is a 4 colour, including one metallic silver or gold layer, silkscreen print that was commissioned as part of a large series of prints for the ocean liner Spirit of Discovery.

The series theme was folklore and tales of the sea. This print is really a collection of good luck amulets and superstitions to help keep all at sea safe.

Image size: 90 x 40 cm.
Paper size: 100 x 55 cm.
Frame size: 120 x 58 cm in a pale wood frame.
Edition of 20, numberd, titled and signed.

Sarah Young is a painter, printmaker, illustrator and maker working with narrative themes often inspired by myth, folk tales, circus and burlesque imagery. As a printmaker she is known for her lino and wood cuts but also works in screen printing, mono print and collograph.
