Florence the cat is a linocut print on Fabriano 5, a half cotton and half woodpulp, smooth and acid free paper. It has been cut with gouges and knives from two blocks and printed on Sarah’s little Adana press in a dark blue and a strong orange ink.
The name Florence means blossoming or flourishing and comes from the Latin word florens and the verb florere - to flower.
